VFW Post 9760 offers several scholarships and awards to community members throughout the year.
This unique contest provides students in grades 9-12 with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. The Post awards $600 and the national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school.

This essay contest for students in grades 6, 7 and 8 encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief. The Post Awards $600 and the 1st place National winner receives $5000.

Our Scout of the Year program provides members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to be recognized for their standout citizenship, patriotism and love of country.
Post 9760 Educational Scholarships
Each year the post awards up to $6,000 in educational scholarships to be paid to the university, college or vocational/technical school.
Teacher of the Year Award
Each year the post awards $500 each to elementary, middle and high school teachers.
Law Enforcement Officer of the Year
Each year the post awards a local LE with recognition and an $250 award for outstanding service.
Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year
Each year the post awards a local first responder with recognition and an $250 award for outstanding service.
